Heather an honorary Shedder from Star Project shared how the lathe and sharpening centre received from Providing for People in Paisley are being used.

“There is a great deal of interest in working on the lathe, and our resident lathe expert, Jim, has been training shedders to create fantastic items. Many shedders had no prior experience using one, and, before the generous donation from P3, we could not train many on it.

Now, several of our shedders are trained and feel confident in tackling their projects. As it’s so busy at the shed, the Sharpening Centre is vital for keeping our tools safe.  Both of these items are things that we could not afford to purchase at the Shed, and the difference they have made to our working day is huge. Having them has brought a real sense of achievement to the shedders, as it has helped us expand our skill set and woodworking repertoire.”
